New lessons to learn.
Newly discovered paths with family.
New journeys with friends old and new.

A new year.

It represents a clean slate... a washing away of the ugliness this past year had brought on.   
2008 had its steep ups and downs.
The Year of the Rat was crap for a lot of people I know, including me.
There were countless blessings in '08 such as weddings and births but frankly,

I'm really glad it's over.

2009 is welcomed with wide-opened arms.
I will start this year with laughter, optimism, dedication and hope.
