  • It’s not a goodbye but a CUL8R!

I paid for the lifetime subscription to Xanga sometime ago but it looks like the site is about to shut down unless they rally $60k… My lifetime is going go have more prosperity than they hoped for this forum.

10 years since I’ve been a Xangan. LOL

Thanks for giving me the outlet to vent & share.

Peace out, possibly for the last time… It’s been real.

  • A new year.
    A new beginning.
    A new start.
    A new outlook.
    Do-overs.
    New motivations.
    New inspirations.
    New lessons to learn.
    Newly discovered paths with family.
New journeys with friends old and new.

    A new year.

It represents a clean slate… a washing away of the ugliness this past year had brought on.
2008 had its steep ups and downs.
The Year of the Rat was crap for a lot of people I know, including me.
There were countless blessings in ’08 such as weddings and births but frankly,

    I’m really glad it’s over.

2009 is welcomed with wide-opened arms.
I will start this year with laughter, optimism, dedication and hope.
    How about you?

Praying for a great year for you and me.

Seh heh bok maaaaani bah deuh seh yos!!!
(Wishing you many blessings in the new year.)

  • A funny sent to me by my married girlfriend.

    ***

Why females should avoid a girls night out after they are married.
If this doesn’t make you laugh, you have lost your sense of humor.

    **
     The
other night I was invited out for a night with the ‘girls.’
    I told my
husband that I would be home by midnight, ‘I promise!’
    Well, the hours
passed and the margaritas went down way too easily.
    Around 3 a.m., a
bit loaded, I headed for home.

Just as I got in the door, the cuckoo clock
in the hallway started up and cuckooed 3 times.
    Quickly, realizing my
husband would probably wake up, I cuckooed another 9 times.
    I was
really proud of myself for coming up with such a quick-witted solution,
in order to escape a possible conflict with him.
    (Even when totally
    smashed… 3 cuckoos plus 9 cuckoos totals 12 cuckoos =MIDNIGHT!)

     The
next morning my husband asked me what time I got in, I told him
    ‘MIDNIGHT’…
He didn’t seem pissed off in the least.
    Phew, I got away
    with that one!

Then he said ‘We need a new cuckoo clock.’

    When I asked
him why, he said, ‘Well, last night our clock cuckooed three times,
    then said ‘oh shit.’
Cuckooed 4 more times, cleared its throat,
    cuckooed another three times,
giggled, cuckooed twice more, and then
    tripped over the coffee table
    and farted.

    hahahaha!

    My Lucky Night

I ended up with a woman at a local bar last night. She looked pretty
good for a 60-year-old. In fact, she wasn’t too bad at all. I found
myself thinking that she probably had a really hot daughter.

We drank a bit and then she asked, ‘Have you ever had a Sportsman’s
    Double?’

    ‘What’s that?’ I asked.

‘It’s a mother and daughter threesome,’ she said.

I wondered what this daughter of hers might look like and my mind began
to embrace the idea. I said, ‘No I haven’t had a mother and daughter
    threesome.’

We drank a bit more and then she says with a wink, ‘Tonight is your
    lucky night.’

We drove to her place. We walked in, she put on the hall light and
    shouted upstairs,
    ‘Mom! You still awake?’

    (that’s gross.)

  • I used to live in Panama.
Yes, the country in Central America.
We lived in Panama City, on the Pacific side of the isthmus.

My Dad did business in the Canal so we moved there in the early 80′s.
I’ve never forgotten my wonderful memories and experiences as a kid.
We grew up in paradise and when my parents decided to come back to the States,
    we moved back to LA.
It was bittersweet only because I love LA but loved Panama almost as much and
I knew I’d miss living in such a beautiful country.

A couple years back, I made this montage for a simple class project in Photo class.

    I miss my childhood.
Can you blame me for missing paradise???

In Panama, I had a friend named Heidi.
    She was my BFF.

When we moved back to LA, I lost contact with her.
I don’t know if I knew as a kid that I needed to get her contact info… I’m sure I did.
I think I had her address written down my diary but through all the moving and growing up, I lost it.
In my young mind, I prolly figured that I’d go back there one day anyway and find her right where I left her.
    Haha.

For the last 20+ years, I’ve been thinking about Heidi from time to time.
I always wondered if she stayed in Panama, if she got married, if she had kids, etc.
I figured she had moved bc her dad was an attorney in Panama as well as the States…

Last night, I was studying ’til the wee hours of the morning and I needed a break so,
went on Facebook and found my alma mater – Diablo Elementary’s Alum Group.

I joined and found a couple of people who had listed the names of the teachers that they had from K-6.
Whoa, teacher’s names from the past.
    It was so cool.

Through the group, I found a kid – an old schoolmate named Quint that went onto Balboa High school
(the American high school in Panama) and looked through his network.
My intent was to find Heidi.
    No such luck.
I looked for her sister Michelle… hoping that MAYBE, she went to Balboa or knew Quint.
    Nope, didn’t find her either.

Since my curiosity was peaked, I decided to look through every Panamenian network there was and
it seemed like everyone who was there, back in the 80′s especially,
had remained friends and kept in touch.
    Amazing.

But to my disappointment, I didn’t find Heidi nor Michelle in the 4 networks I scoured one by one.
It was 4:30 in the morning by this time and I almost gave up.
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .

    Until…
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    I found Michelle!!!

I had forgotten what Heidi and Michelle’s last name was (I know, how embarrassing) but I remembered it started with the letter “A”.
I hadn’t thought about it in almost a quarter of a century.
Aguila? Acosta…? then it hit me.

    Michelle ARIAS.

    There she was.
Her profile picture was tiny and she looked 20 years older (haha) but it was unmistakably HER!!!
And in her circle of friends, there was Heidi Arias.
    I almost cried.

    O.M.G.
    FOR REAL.

I sent both Michelle and Heidi a message asking if she had a sister named Heidi/Michelle and crossed my fingers that either one would reply.
I needed confirmation before I got too excited.
Michelle replied back about an hour later and told me that indeed she did have a sister named Heidi AND that she remembered me!

    I’m still in disbelief.
    This is surreal.

After almost 24 years of wondering about them, I finally reconnected with Michelle, my BFF’s little sister.
I still haven’t heard back from Heidi – I hope she checks her FB soon.
It would be so facking incredible to reconnect with my long, lost friend from elementary school!!!

Little did I know that the Internet (& Facebook of all sites) would reconnect me with my long ago past.
Only a few degrees of separation…
I still cannot believe I found them.

    WHAT A TRIP.

  • fall sweeps.

i had to clear away the clutter & go completely protected…
all of my posts have been moved to the other side because
i can’t see the point of the entire global community examining my little world.

Strangely, there are a lot of people who google ckim247.  WTF?!?

party flyers will be posted in public for informational purposes but
my personal entries will be under protected going forth.

if you want me to add you, holla.

    thanks.
